Hugo's Money

Rene DiRosa is a well-known Napa valley art collector and former vintner. His art collection is now called the DiRosa Preserve, and is open to the public by reservation. He probably has the best collection of Northern California artists who worked since the 1950's. (For more information, have a look at this book.)

After Barbara and I visited the Preserve for the first time, she became a volunteer guide and I joined as a member/supporter. Once a year, members and staff are invited to submit art for a show to be curated by Rene, called "All in the Family." I am proud to say my little green monoprint "Hugo's Money" was accepted. The show opened last night. This photocollage shows Rene in his trademark green baseball cap, flanked by two shots of my print in its prominent position on the wall.—JDL
