Elizabeth Addison |
|
An active artist in Berkeley, Addison was born in Chicago and worked as an advertising executive before the birth of her two daughters. She has won awards from Pro Arts and from the Berkeley Art Center and shows in several local galleries. In addition to leading a collaborative workshop at Studio 1509, Addison is a popular teacher of monoprinting for adults, and of children's art classes in schools and at "Pleiades' Palette", a summer art camp for girls. Having worked in many styles, Addison is especially appreciated for her large, colorful monoprints with ironically reworked sentimental images of women's lives, gleaned from magazines of the mid-twentieth century. |
